Making a difference in West Virginia
When people support Hurricon, Inc., they are supporting more than an event. They are helping fuel the fight against cancer through the American Cancer Society — and that work has real impact for people in West Virginia.
We want people to understand that this support does not disappear into a black box. It helps sustain patient services, lodging, transportation, screening efforts, advocacy, and research that benefit West Virginians.

Why this matters here
West Virginia continues to carry a heavy cancer burden. The American Cancer Society estimates 13,590 new cancer cases and 4,710 cancer deaths in the state in 2026. ACS also reports that West Virginia’s overall cancer incidence and death rates are both higher than the national average.
That is why this mission matters. Support for Hurricon helps fund an organization working in areas that directly affect people in this state: helping patients get to treatment, helping families find lodging near care, promoting screening, supporting research, and advocating for better access to care. ACS CAN’s 2024 West Virginia summary says it worked to protect access to care, oppose new barriers to Medicaid coverage, and maintain statewide tobacco prevention and cessation funding.
Community makes this possible
Cancer continues to affect families across West Virginia every day. That is why this work matters.
By supporting Hurricon, people are helping support patient services, cancer research, prevention efforts, and advocacy through the American Cancer Society. These efforts are not abstract. They help connect people to support, remove barriers to care, and strengthen the fight against cancer in this state and beyond.
What your support means
